I’m a big fan of @WeAreNation – Trail Runner Nation podcasts.

I discovered them a couple of years ago and listen regularly. As the podcasts have gotten longer so too have my runs. Sometimes you just go looking for that extra loop so you get the end of the show.

One of the recent ones I found very interesting was on over training and how our bodies react to sustained adrenal stress.

Well worth listening to and if you are someone who habitually over trains or lives a stressful life, this is something you should learn to manage before you go damaging yourself further.


Half Marathon Program – Week 3

Now to notch things up slightly.

People wonder about the intervals and tempo runs – what is the purpose?

Simply put if you get used to running at a faster pace & effort, then you can sustain an easier, aerobic pace for longer. Faster pace runs also help boost fitness.

So you’ve been running away, no real structure, just getting out and running. Doing the odd 5k and venturing to 10km when the mood takes you, but in general you enjoy running and are out and about a few days per week (weather dependent) for 40 mins to an hour.

Times makin’ changes…

As they say time waits for no man (or woman) and that the onwards march of time is relentless.

There’s a great line in a song by Tesla that always stuck in my head from when I first heard it many, many years ago:

Changes, time’s makin’ changes in my life
Rearrangin’, can’t seem to stop the hands of time

Many life gurus will advice that no matter what you do, every decision you make should move you forwards in pursuit of your goals.

Well, just like time moving onwards so is it also true with our business.
